There’s a distinctly nautical theme to this weekend, so best hunt out the eye patches and stripy t-shirts sharpish as fancy dress is practically compulsory!
The fun starts on Saturday with the second annual Sea Shanty Festival on and around the Stade, culminating in a fabulous sea shanty concert on the Stade Open Space at 7.30pm. eat @ the Stade will be open for refreshments, meals, snacks and more.
Sunday will need no introduction as you have to have been asleep or away from town for the last few weeks to not have heard that the pirates are coming!
A whole day of piratey fun and games across the town, particularly the Stade Open Space, with market, music, demonstrations and more. For the full lowdown visit http://hastingspirateday.org.uk. eat @ the Stade will have our pop-up cafe for your delectation and enjoyment whilst you soak up the amazing atmosphere that is this superb family event.
And if you want to take part in the piratey action in a more relaxed fashion, the fabulous All Aloud Choir will be performing a set of delightful sea songs and shanties on the Alexandra Park bandstand from 2-4pm.
