Old Town Carnival Week starts this Saturday, and whilst there is a full listings on the carnival website (www.oldtowncarnival.co.uk), here are a few of our highlights:
Saturday 28th July 10.30am – Tug o War on the Stade. Are you ready, take the strain, heave…
Sunday 29th 2pm – Crowning of the Carnival Princess on Winkle Island. Aah, isn’t she lovely
Weds 1st August 12-7pm – National Wedding Day on the Stade Open Space. Part fundraiser for Cancer Research, part celebration of everyone’s big day, part wedding fayre, this will be a great day, with a visit from TV’s Wedding Fairy, a prize draw, exhibitions and much more.
Friday 3rd August 11am-5pm – children’s fancy dress fun on the Stade Open Space. Outdoor games, activities, fancy dress parade and the world premiere of Richard Alan’s fantastic Portable Pantomimes. All for free!!
Sat 4th August 5pm The Carnival starts out from Rock a Nore and makes it s way round town.
Sun 5th 12noon – a great favourite, the trolleybus pull on the Stade Open Space. People pulling a trolleybus for fun – what can we say?
